  i found some ladies purse at the local shopping mall parking lot tonight, it had her entire life in it, her social security card, her cell phone, her cash, her credit cards, even her daughters social security card.. from looking through the contents, me and saffron were able to find out many things about her:.

  1)she had recently moved from way out in the country to columbia maryland... 2)she was probably divorced from a man of middle eastern origens.

  3)she was white.

  I think you understand that the reason to be "good" is not because of positive or negative feedback from some metaphysical punishment engine, but because it helps create the kind of world in which we prefer to live. Your moral righteousness echos between the spheres of time.

  I predict that you will be reincarnated somewhere between the two extremes you mentioned - probably as an intestinal parasite in an eagle. You'll have a seat near the sphincter, where the view is best.

  "don't know about the rest of you but is sure is getting harder for me to do..!!.

  but i was really happy when my sister (who is about 15 yrs younger than me} ..said just tonight..."i have been looking at you since you have been here and i just want to know how do you keep yourself looking so young, as you have really great looking skin and not very many character lines" wasn't that sweet??

  but the only thing i really do is try to keep the moisture in the skin over my face..and it has helped me there..but the rest of me is very dry and i just don't know how to get the moisture back in the rest of my skin.

  i link to this board a couple of times a day, sometimes in the early hours and there is always a flurry of activity, often from an enclave of veterans.

  i wonder, are you all in prison?

  i understand the pc's are allowed in some facilities.. do you all work?

  hello everyone, i've been reading a lot of posts here over the last week or so and decided it was time to introduce myself.

  i'm from pittsburgh, pa and was not brought up in the "truth", so to speak.

  i only became interested when i met a girl at work (who was a witness) and we started a friendship that eventually grew into a strong relationship.

  The answer to your question about how your Mother-In-Law will react can only be answered by her behavior when the time comes, but her behavior will be triggered by how "deeply dipped" she is in the organization. If she follows doctrine, she will adopt whatever shunning practice is currently reccommended - the approved practice varies every few years - if she really loves her daughter and grandchildren, she will bend the rules to gain some "wiggle room".

  just as a crack baby has no say in his/her decision to be under the control of an evil substance so to becoming a jw was not a decision i made for myself.

  i was born into the controlled world of jehovah's witnesses, just as many others here were too.

  i was speaking with someone today and i (being the usual good-for-nothing do-gooder i am) commented on how i feel so sad for the afghan kids and their lot in life.

  do you think that people might become jw,study,go to meetings cuz thay know that thay might get a chance to molest kids, and get away with it?.

  i think that child molesters might look at the wtbts as a safe haven for them.... has anyone else ever thought about this?

  I'll disagree. The WTS doesn't advertise that it provides a safe haven for pedophiles, and to borrow from Silverleaf, child molesters become teachers, school principals, coaches, counselors, etc., so it isn't as if pedophiles have no other places to go to practice their perversion.

  I think that the truth is that Jehovah's Witnesses are not as different from the rest of the world as they like to think they are, (in fact I find it amusing that when a discuss this issue with a Dub they will often counter to the effect that "this happens everywhere" - I suppose "god's people" aren't that special) although they may have a higher percentage of devotees who are neurotic than more mainstream religions.

  because they are insane.

  mabey not all of them, but the one's i've been exposed to so far have some serious mental problems.

  and for the record i'm not talking about their religious beliefs, i'm basing my opinion on direct actions taken by the ones that i have had personal experience with.. thought some of you might be interested in the things that have been going on with me and jon's family.

  Hi Kevin,

  I was raised a dub, am now an atheist but am still crazy after all these years.

  I agree with Dan - if you still have the poster, it can be dusted for prints, and if you catch Pops on tape and press charges he'll be fingerprinted (I think), so you'll be able to look for a match.

  I consider you part of our "family" of apostates, by marriage.

  this subject is really confusing to me.

  since it appears that the wtbts is not what it purports to be, what exactly is giving the "anointed" the impression that they have a heavenly calling?

  does any of ray franz' books tell exactly what made him feel that way?
